Welcome Lori A. Koch, FCDS Director of Administrative Operations

I am very pleased to announce that Lori A. Koch, BA, CCRP, ODS-C will be joining the Florida Cancer Data System as our new Director of Administrative Operations, effective January 5, 2026

Lori brings more than two decades of experience in cancer registration and surveillance, including 14 years serving as Director of the Illinois State Cancer Registry, where she led all aspects of registry operations—from strategic planning and program management to workforce oversight, quality initiatives, and statewide reporting. Her leadership experience spans complex operational environments, including state and federal program requirements, multi-stakeholder partnerships, and high-visibility data dissemination activities.

Lori is also widely recognized at the national level for her service on numerous boards, committees, and workgroups. Her contributions include serving as a Representative-at-Large on the NAACCR Board of Directors, Chair of the NAACCR Strategic Management Work Group, Co-Chair of the Standardization & Registry Development Steering Committee, Co-Chair of Uniform Data Standards, and active member of the NPCR Advisory Group, among many other roles. Her national engagement has shaped standards, driven modernization efforts, and strengthened registry practice across the U.S. and Canada.

She brings deep experience developing and managing SEER grant applications, overseeing complex budgets, and leading all required reporting for CDC, SEER, and state government partners. In addition, Lori has extensive expertise in data release and utilization, including IRB coordination, confidential research data processes, public-facing reports, dashboards, and stakeholder engagement.

Lori also has a strong and well-established record of publishing and presenting. Her work includes authorship and co-authorship on peer-reviewed manuscripts in journals such as JAMA Pediatrics and Cancer, multiple epidemiologic reports, and presentations at national conferences.

We are thrilled to welcome Lori to FCDS. Her leadership, national perspective, and operational depth will be invaluable as we continue advancing modernization, expanding data use, and strengthening our registry infrastructure.

Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Lori as she begins her role with us in the new year.
