QC Corner - PLEURA

-Pleural peel/partial pulmonary decortication should be coded as surgery

A200 or A300 if the primary site is PLEURA.

-However, when the primary site is LUNG

There is no lung tissue removed in pleural peel/partial pulmonary

decortication; therefore, it should not be coded as primary site surgery in

lung.

It can be coded in RX SUMM SURG OTHER REG/DISTANT as NON PRIMARY

Surgical PROCEDURE to other regional sites when the primary site is lung.
