FCDS Facility Follow-Up Report/Inquiry System (Available in IDEA)

The FCDS Facility Follow-Up Report/Inquiry System provides your registry with a consolidated case summary for cases you share with other facilities in Florida. Data from multiple case reports (abstracts) are combined during the FCDS Tumor Consolidation Process to select the most accurate information and create a single Consolidated Tumor Record.

You may query records individually or use batch processing to compare hundreds of cases against the FCDS Consolidated Tumor Record. The Follow-Up function is available in FCDS IDEA under Inquiry.

Benefits of using the FCDS Facility Follow-Up Report/Inquiry System include:

  • The most current Date of Last Contact available anywhere in the state

  • New or updated First Course of Treatment information (e.g., surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biological therapy, hormonal therapy, and more)

  • Treatment data recorded at another facility or physician office—information you may not have known was provided

FCDS also incorporates several years of Physician Office Treatment Data, primarily from medical oncology practices. This has resulted in updates to tens of thousands of Consolidated Tumor Records in the FCDS master files. Adding physician office treatment data is significant and enhances the completeness of First Course of Treatment by capturing therapies delivered in physician offices and other actively reporting cancer diagnosis and treatment centers across Florida. These treatments are verified using ICD diagnosis codes and CPT/HCPCS codes.

Overall, you can expect a complete picture of a patient’s First Course of Treatment regardless of where care was delivered (hospital, freestanding treatment center, or private physician office).

FCDS continues to work with reporting entities across Florida to build the most complete record possible for each patient and each patient/tumor.

Please try the FCDS Facility Follow-Up Report/Inquiry System to help enhance your facility-level data.
