FCDS/FAPTP 2022 Follow Back Audit

One of the routine Quality Control audits conducted by the Florida Cancer Data System (FCDS) involves an annual comparison of pediatric cancer cases reported to FCDS with those reported to the Florida Association of Pediatric Tumor Programs (FAPTP).

It is essential that FCDS receives all pediatric cancer cases from Florida. Timely and complete reporting is crucial for FCDS to accurately include these cases in state calculations of cancer incidence and mortality rates.

FCDS identified the facilities that diagnosed and/or treated pediatric cancer cases in 2022, which were reported to FAPTP but not matched to any cases at FCDS. These facilities were notified by email on February 6, 2025. They were instructed to review the list of unmatched cases in the FCDS IDEA QC Menu

Each facility must review the status of each case to determine if it has been previously reported to FCDS. If a case was reported before, please provide the Facility name, Accession Number, and Sequence Number. If the case is reportable and has not been reported to FCDS, please do so by no later than March 31, 2025.

This important and time-sensitive audit is closely monitored by the Florida Department of Health.
