FCDS 2025 Educational Webinar Series
FCDS is pleased to announce four educational webinars for Florida cancer registrars and cancer case abstractors.
The FCDS 2025 Educational Webinar Series will take place from March to October 2025. This series will consist of four webinars, featuring two site/histology-specific topics focused on gynecological malignancies, as well as endocrine and neuroendocrine tumors. Additionally, one webinar will discuss major coding discrepancies and how to resolve them. These webinars will provide essential background information and directed instruction on the data collection requirements for 2024 and 2025 for FCDS, along with specific coding instructions and feedback. Each Cancer Site Educational Webinar will cover the anatomy and surrounding structures relevant to each cancer site, risk factors associated with these cancers, and the signs and symptoms of the disease. Attendees will learn how to use and apply the Solid Tumor Rules, Summary Staging, SSDI and Grade coding, and guidelines from the NCCN or other published clinical practice sources for establishing diagnoses, staging, and conducting marker studies and other tests used in treatment planning. In addition to addressing abstracting, coding, staging, and treatment for each cancer site, the Quality Control Staff at FCDS will conduct a comprehensive review of findings generated from routine edit checks and visual review processes. This aims to systematically identify and analyze specific problem areas that may impact the accuracy and reliability of data submitted by Florida registrars. By evaluating the results of these edit checks and visual reviews, the Quality Control Staff will effectively target and address key issues, ensuring improved data quality and compliance among registrars statewide.

The webinars will be offered free of charge and will be recorded for posting on the FLccSC website for later access. Two CEUs will be awarded for each webinar.
